Recently, he was diagnosed with male breast cancer. He has been positive the whole journey, at least to his kids and I admire him for his courage. More than anything else, I admire him that he is still focused on Christ and spreading His love. It is easy to get wrapped up in a pity party about yourself in a time like this, but he is not. He continues to serve God in every waiting room.
He is a man I will always look up to and I am so thankful I've had such a Christ-like example growing up. The reason I am writing this is because today marks the start of his 24 weeks of chemo and I know there is fear and concern of the unknown for everyone. My dad checks mine, my sister's, and my brother's blogs daily, so as he's flipping through, I wanted him to be encouraged.
I love you daddy! We're all praying hard!
If you are interested in reading his story and keeping up with the process, you can do so here.
"...Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go."

Don't you just love that picture of your dad? It's one of my favorites from the ones I took during my photo journalism class back in the day. And you dad was my favorite subject. The jeep to his left is "the" jeep and the house on the right was the place he stayed while working for TP&W. He was my mountain man - both then and now;-)
